    • From Discards to Hope

    Through Project 20/20, donations of discarded eyeglasses and sunglasses are transformed into a miracle for the needy. Donated eyeglasses are cleaned, screened, and packaged for the next optometry team going to a developing country. Volunteer optometrists take Project 20/20 eyeglasses for free distribution to persons in need, regardless of age, race, or religion.


    Over 1,000 Persons Helped Each Year

    Since starting in 1993, Project 20/20 has helped over 10,000 children and adults receive the gift of better sight - - at no cost to the patients! Without this program, many would not be able to see. In fact, they could have lost their sight forever without professional eye care.

    Project 20/20 is a Volunteer in Mission project of the United Methodist Church. The goal of the project is to help at least 1,000 people around the world see better every year. This has proven possible because of the efforts of volunteers from many church denominations, community civic clubs, and the Southern College of Optometry.
